Hagen Wears Short Shorts

I am having way too much fun with this whole iceberg thing. Tee hee.

Azrael resents that by the way Wiglaf. Don’t say things like that – you’ll hurt his feelings! *shakes finger at him*

BTW – I haven’t forgotten that whole Security & Hnæf wallpaper thing. It’s just sitting down and drawing it. It eludes me…I blame the fact I’m distracted easily. By just about anything. Including staring out into space for long periods of time.

Or staring at my new TFA Arcee Figure. I want to bring her to work but I fear losing/breaking her. T_T So I stare at her on my desk instead. *giggles* But How can I not? Just look at her:

Autobot Arcee is Love

And you all thought I ranted about her too much on my blog. :P Mwa ha ha ha ha ha ha. It leaked over.

What’s your first spoken language? (Or What’s your Native Language?)

This is more for curiosity’s sake than anything. I’ve been wanting to ask for a while but keep forgetting. :D

Edit: Because it had to happen:

I don’t know why but I read Gawains’ shirt as zombie brite the first few times…and now I wish that was a real thing. Hnn, english is probably the technically right answer, but the truthful one would be a slurry of english and german.

First language is English. ^_^ Wiglaf displaying his hatred of icebergs is too hilarious. XD I’d love to see him unleash his full fury and destroy a wretched iceberg by melting it or crushing it.

Gawain’s t-shirt is great. You just can’t get a more perfect insignia for a zombie on a cruise. XD And Hagen has some snazzy summer wear.

Reply

English.

And Mordred, you’re already acting so very not manly, needing to be rescued and all that. Now you’re sitting like a girl! <- *is speaking from experience* xD
However, since that is a comfy way to sit, I think we'll all let it slide. =)

Wiglaf is my new favorite. And Mordred looks like a drowned kitten. Which also makes him my favorite.

And my first language is English.

You can tell because it took me literaly five tries to spell “first” right. :/

Reply

I’m going to bring some internationality into this. My native tongue is Czech.

Reply

English, but I plan to make French my second language.

Love da comic ♥ And Gawain makes me laugh xD

Reply

Mine is Hungarian. Won’t blame you if you have to look it up. XD

I’ve been reading WAM for quite some time now, but restarted just yesterday (for the fourth time maybe?), so this is a convenient time for you to ask something I would like to answer. I like to let webcomic authors know there’s some person living in the middle of nowhere who loves them, but I’m somewhat shy.

Reply

Really? We do a Hungarian dance in dance class. I’m not in it yet (my older sister is, though) but I’ll probably start learning it soon ’cause it’s one of the easier ones. I love the music for it, though. :)
Plus I like Hungary’s character in Hetalia.

English. ^^

I love Mordred’s expression for some reason. :sly:

Ooh…I wish I had a TFA figurine! D= Can’t get them anywhere around where I live though. :argh:

Heh…nice shirt there, Mr. Zombie.

English is my first. Japanese is my second… well, the second that I actually use enough to have any kind of proficiency in. (I like collecting random languages, or trying to. my Classics advisor said that I was the first Japanese major/Classical Studies minor the department ever had. There are probably very good reasons for that. ~_~)

It looks like that’s the nice thing about hating icebergs – they’re easy to vent your frustrations on…

and damn it, stop making me want to draw you fanart when I have other artwork to do.

Reply

Only if you stop first. :P I’m itchin’ to do something with Varony and Nashua but I can’t think of anything good. XD

Reply

Really? that’s awesome! I am sure that anything you come up with will be no less than epic. :P I’ve had a few thoughts for WaM characters to draw, but they’ve all been pretty boring ideas, I’m afraid… ^_^;

My first language is English. I’m only starting to learn Japanese ;] I don’t think I’ve made a comment on your comic before, but I love it! :$ :$ thanks for all your hard work =D

My language is english and I plan on making my second swedish I might Finally get to understand Wiglaf that way

First time commenting! I really, really love your comic! Thank you so much for taking the time to bring this to us.
As for native language, that’d be *deep breath* English, Spanish, French, Latin, German, Hebrew, and Korean. It’s a really long story. I’ve been lapsing on all but the English, Hebrew, and Spanish though. >__<

Reply

*whistle* That’s a long list right there.

Reply

Heh, yeah.
Oh, I wanted to ask you something. When did you first start adding song lyrics at the end of the comic posts?

Reply

That is a pretty awesome transformer right there.

I wonder if Wiglaf will kill the Iceburg… he never got around to killing that one rock, maybe he can make up for it here!

Reply

Native language: Spanish. I spoke a million miles an hours when I was little. Then when I was three, I had to learn English because my neighborhood mostly consisted of white and Polish kids. So don’t expect me to speak any Spanish; I barely understand a word of it anymore.

Stupid iceberg. XD

Reply

Ha ha; I took five years of Spanish and was pretty good at it – and now I’ve forgotten just about all of it. XD

My first language is English, which I didn’t start to really speak it till I was five and with a weirda$$ accent(long, complicated story), second is Spanish, although it’s horrible, just absolutely horrible(and that’s cause my entire family is Mexican, except a great-grandmother from Italy, and they’ve tried teaching it to me for close to a decade now) and my third is French, which is so much better than my Spanish and close to being as good as my English (my family makes fun of my Spanish by saying it has a French accent)

Also, as always, your comic is awesomefuls!

Reply

Aw~ But accents are nice. :D Even if they are different~

Reply

Haha :/ , not when you’re part of the only Mexcian family in a village of 5000 or so, mostly white, or some sort of European, people, one of four hispanic kids in your elementary, one of whom is your sister and the other two live in a nearby village, you have a weird name that your accent makes sound even weirder, and you have what sounds like a British accent to most people, nevermind that you have never met a British person in your entire life before. That was about five years ago though, I’ve lost my accent by now, or most of it, unfortunately, I never took advantage of it and made fun of people like that, although I did insult people in what little Spanish I knew. :D

English. (Even though I’m a lifelong speaker, I can’t really say that I’m fluent because the rules keep changing. :/ )

“Hagen Wears Short Shorts”

And sandals!

“Just look at her:”

Hmmmm, a pigeon-toed robot… :raisebrow:

It’s fun to skim the comments and see the diversity of readers WAM has.

My first and only language would be English. Unless three years of American Sign Language count. Not that I use it regularly anymore.

Reply

English.

And lets see… Hagen is actually… pretty hawt in her current outfit. I like her out of uniform!

Reply

Hagen is hot, Gawain with his hair clutching to his head like that is awesome, his shirt makes me feel a bit uncomfortable (I dun wanna be bitten ;-; ), the dove looks somewhat suspicious (like… some kind of Hnaef’s spy-gadgets, or someone else’s) and the two heroes could do nothing but treat the iceberg like this for the next strip and I’d still be happy x]

Aaaaand: German (from Germany), you can tell by the overly long sentences and… wrong grammar, basically.

Reply

sign language, then english. (please dont ask what my first word was)

(and before you ask, my parents are deaf, not me.)

i love wiglaf in the last panel. but i like mordred more! so cute! :$

and im jealous of the autobot.

Reply

English, and two years of French. Of course my french was so pathetic Mr. Moran offered to give me a B second year if I did not sign up for French 3. I could read and write OK, but orals were really bad.

Reply

Today’s comic is just all sorts of cute! Hagen’s adorable, Gawain’s shirt’s full of win, Mordred manages to do nothing (which he excels at) and is still adorable, and Wiglaf steals the show for me.

My native is English though I’ve been using Latin since I was a child (Archaeology/Folklore major, Classics/Mythology minor.). I can handle Japanese and Hawaiian fairly well, with a mix of Creole, Portuguese, Spanish, French, German, and Old Norse for spice.

Reply

English, though I’ve learned Hebrew (but forgot some of it), am taking Japanese, and plan to learn russian and Greek.

Reply

English… I know a touch of French, but only enough to get by in an emergency ;]

Love Gawain’s shirt SO much!

Reply

English and Dutch I also know a very little French

Kicking an Iceberg lol.

I’ve been reading for ages but this is the first post I’ve made, on any of the few hundred comics I follow! I really love your art by the way.

Reply

English. I’ve dabbled with three others, but was too lazy to practice them by myself to keep them. :/

I’m unable to decide whether Mordred is looking unamused, or amused, at Wiglaf’s actions. Probably both, I suppose.

Reply

people keep saying that they love Gawain’s shirt(i do too) but i think i’m the first to say i really like Hagen’s (=^.^=)
first language would have to be bad english, i’d say just english, but my dad talks redneck, and i spent so much time in a pool hall the first nine or so years of my life that my vocabulary was full of bad grammar and swear words (not around the adults of course) though i’m learning Japanese, Swedish, German, French, and Gaelic

Reply

First language was English, and if I had stayed in Germany just a couple years longer than I did (Kindgergarten to second grade) my second language might have been German.

But that was a while ago, so now I just speak English with a hodge-podge of random phrases from other languages under my belt. (Some German, some French, some Spanish, and some Japanese-though I can’t read Japanese, just understand it a little.)

Reply

Firstly, i’d like to say that your comics are amazing. Also that I blame you for making them so addictive that I had to read through all the achived ones too. =)

My first language is English and AUSLAN, second languages are French, Japanese, and Russian. I also know just enough Indonesian and Chinese to ask directions, ask where the bathroom/toilet is, and to order a chai latte.

Reply

(jumps into poll 2 years late) *pouts* no one else’s first language is French. Mind, by first, I mean first one I spoke. I’m better at English now. Proper English. From England. Still speak French well enough, though. Born there, lived there when I was small.
