Hnæf

First Appearance: 94. Like a Ninja

Bio: It’s said that Sedrick’s records are never wrong, and Hnæf is the reason why – gifted with a photographic memory and a high IQ, at age 12 it is rumored that Hnæf knows everything.

His current loyalties lie with Sedrick, but he’s been known to be hired out to other organizations for a high fee (and assuming the information being purchased doesn’t interfere with Sedrick’s plans).

While a genius and having an understanding of everything from the sciences to the arts, he is still 12 and has need for attention and praise that can often come out in a sarcastic attitude.

Hnæf’s extensive informational network is run and managed by his computer, Mímir.

Author Notes: While in the middle of the Sedrick & Arthur fight arc, I realized that Sedrick needed someone to talk to when he couldn’t go to Arthur- not to mention a few lackeys of his own.

Thus, Hnæf was born. He also happened to qualify as a reason behind Sedrick having good information networks – so two birds with one stone.

As far as his name goes, yet another character that was named by a friend. He’s named after the Danish Prince Hnæf from Beowulf and the Finnesburg Fragment. I’m fairly certain it’s pronounced “Naff” but I could be wrong. I’m just happy I figured out how to type ‘æ‘ :D (On a Mac it’s Alt + ‘ ).

His computer Mímir is named after the Norse God renowned for his knowledge and wisdom.  While looking for said name, I knew I wanted it to be a mythological figure associated with Knowledge but there are so many to pick from. When I read Odin was carrying around Mímir’s head for secret knowledge and council, I knew Mímir was the perfect choice.
