Sedrick

Current Goal: Overthrow Arthur and take over. Be the best lackey he can be.

First Appearance: 16. Ello’ There

Bio: Arthur’s lackey and number two. His face has been deformed since birth, but that doesn’t get him down. Sedrick does just well with one eye and he’s got a good head on his shoulders and usually ends up using it keeping his partner in line.

Sedrick is more physically fit than most could tell at first glance, but he chooses to focus on intel more often than physical means of defense and offense. This often works to his advantage because most don’t expect him to defend himself until they’re already flat on their back.

He also has a fondness for violence that could possibly rival Arthur Garrott Sr. It’s rumored he holds himself back from going too far across the line out of respect for Arthur Jr.

Though, he probably won’t be satisfied with being ‘number two’ for long.

Author Notes: Every great villain has a great lackey somewhere behind them – even if it is just an evil pet or some sort. Sedrick filled that role very nicely.

To help play with the cliché of most lackeys (such as ‘Igor’), I gave him a lump for an eye (instead of a back hump.) The inspiration for that came from Quasimodo from The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

And unlike most lackey teams, Sedrick is very fond of Arthur and thinks of him more of a friend than a boss. I wanted Sedrick to be a childhood friend that’s seen Arthur at his best and worst- and still hang around.

Like Mordred, Sedrick lets me use more sarcasm and dry humor to fall alongside the sight gags and dumb humor of the rest of the cast.

Sedrick is also the only member of the cast so far who’s name didn’t have anything special behind it when it was chosen. I drew him, and went ‘Sedrick’ and that was that.
