Actually Real men wore RED and real boys wore PINK.
Then some marketing types [are they still classified as people?] got the brilliant idea to take pink away from the boys and give it to the girls and vice versa since BLUE was a girls colour. That was why all the old masters paintings had boys and girls in frills and BLUE since blue was a girls colour and girls were not worth kidnapping or murdering.
