Yes, I have been giggling to myself over the past week at recent comments concerning his outfit change.
Though I like to think a little more has been lifted from his shoulders than a couple pounds of hair.

Well, my eyes are open so I guess I’m probably seeing things. I don’t know how else I’d be able to type this and know what the heck I typed with any certainty (unless I involved text to speech or something).
The “home” keys F and J on most western style keyboards have raised dots. This allows you to be sure of your orientation while you touch type, no eyes required.

Does Brynhildr have an inner demon that is upset at the new “Style”
Facts:
Their half-sister Driver is not as attractive, they idolize (and worship) an infamous mass murderer, we see credible evidence of the supernatural in Brynhildr’s shadow.
Hypothesis:
They may be witches of some sort, demonic creatures, or otherwise demon-invested humans. Those three possibilities would explain why they are so much prettier than their half-sister AND so devoted to a prolific murderer.
This would be consistent with there being some (not yet specified) supernatural basis for Wiglaf’s ability.
If that hypothesis is true Azrael may be about to face his very first battle as a newly-minted hero….

And from what I understand, if you’re famous, the convention planners will waive the entrance fee to conventions.
So there you go: shelter, food, clothing, entertainment, and the love of the fans. Azrael would have everything he needs.

Also, “California Dreamin’” is by The Mamas and the Papas, not The Beach Boys.
The most famous version is by TMATP and they may have wrote it, would have to look that up but the Beach Boys did a cover on their “Made in the USA” album. We have both versions on our iTunes servers at home. Liliy was probably listening to the BB version at the time of drawing.

I don’t know about either of you…but if I cut all my hair off that short (it’s the same length Azrael’s used to be~) I know I’d get some shocked looks. Heck, people freaked out the one time I cut it to my shoulders…so….pulling from reality? XD
The longer hair is the longer it takes to grow it to that length–doubly so because as it gets longer the rate at which it grows also slows down. It’s a significant change that cannot be undone quickly by time to lose that amount of hair on the raw facts alone.
Because of this hair length and style has significant social meaning in many societies. On women shorter hair strongly implies things about their sexual orientation, emotional status and relationship status in the US. Hair length on men implies things about drug use, occupation and political alignment in the US.
All of that is so much superficial BS on one hand but on the other hand these notions are common enough to have been formed into stereotypes, and people change their appearances from/to attributes identified with one or another stereotype at their social peril.

Actually, forget I said anything. I’d just like to know why Grace went along with it. From what I’ve read, most serial killers (straight up killing, mind you. No hanky panky) are rather homophobic.
That shadow is definitely not Grace.
Remember that Grace wears a shirt with cords at the cuffs and a cape/cloak.
These hands are either rather bony/skeletal or they are rail thin and wearing gloves with finger blades OR its an emaciated version of that Mause character. O_o
Then again all this may explain her perplexing and gravity defying double peaked bangs. :sly:

When I saw Azrael’s new look, I thought he had decided to become a colorful hobo. XD Poor Brynhildr may not be able to adjust to this change very fast. Those bony hands in the shadow behind her seem to accentuate her uneasiness. Azrael had better be prepared with smelling salts just in case of a fainted Brynhildr.

A scarf is just about the easiest thing ever to knit. Why steal when you can make a comical eyesore/geek-reference of your own for only far too much money and time?

Sooo… did anyone else realize that Azzi must be shining or something? The shadows on his pants and clothes are going one way, but the shadow on Brynhildr is going the opposite direction…
Aslo… I get the feeling that the shadow claw-hands portend her doing something permanent and possibly quite evil to Azzi for cutting his hair without permission (Yes… Fangirls get kinda possessive about certain boy’s body traits, hair included… Duo’s braid? is MINE!)
yeah I had a conversation with two fangirls. one agreed to let the other have Axel(kingdom hearts) as long as she could keep his awesomely spiky hair!

I think Azzie looks wonderfully kinetic now. The long hair and simple suit was a bit static. Although I don’t envy the fact that you have to draw this new getup every time you draw Azzie. And just because he’s dressed up in bright colors and has a hairstyle that makes it look like there’s a breeze wherever he is doesn’t mean he’s going to be a hero. For all we know, he’s going to use Grace to perform operations.
This outfit is so much easier to draw than Bliss’ costume it’s not even funny. XD This is a breeze~

Shadow manipulation is totally its own thing. It’s called umbrakinesis or sciakinesis. So I guess she’d be an…umbrakineticist?…rather than a necromancer. Or something like that. xD
A Necromancer is actually someone who can raise spirit of a deceased person as either a ghost or zombie(not like Gawain though, less, coherent).
The suffix, Necro coming from the Greek word Nekros, meaning ‘dead body’
I doubt very much Brynhildr is a necromancer.

As sad as I am to see the hair go, I do think the bright colors suit him nicely. And the flowers. Of COURSE the flowers.

I think it might be because we’re getting to see a full body shot of him and he’s beside someone for size comparison. Most of the time we only see from the waist up, so height is hard to tell.
Yes. XD Azrael’s actually really tall compared to most of the cast. He’s a good head and some taller than Wiglaf. :)
