The Dog Grendel

…I have no explanation.

That dog does things to you, I tell you what.

He’s a creature from the “other world” in Coraline! (You know, the world where everyone had button eyes)

That’s what I thought.

Scary.. our thoughts are on the same wavelength.

He’s a spy cam! Sent by someone to spy on Mordred! But who? Arthur or Janus, to keep a closer eye on him? Brat, to scope out her future husband? Hnaef, to widen his spy network? Or an alien sent from Security’s homeworld to scold him about the frequent abuse of his powers?

Nah!! This is me doing a shock/horror face as I discover that Grendel is not a real dog, but then he totally is because he moves on the first page we meet him. So, button eyes are really bad, and I am not a dog fan. Hershal needs to show up, like five minutes ago.

His eyes are buttons! askdjskald!
…please tell me he’s secretly one of Safir’s toys and Safir is actually The Chessmaster. That would be perfect okay. u_u

Alternatively, Wolfy and/or Grendel are pulling the strings and there is a whole legion of stuffed animals spying on the Garrot family

Wait, I think I’ve got it. It’s a stuffed dog that got whacked with Eclát. At least I hope so, that’s the only non-sinister option I can think of.

Even without the “eyes” the way he is just sitting there, staring at you, is both creepy and cute. Don’ know if I want to snuggle with it or back slowly away.

This dog is so cute.I love it.And I usually hate dogs.I can always sense if a dog is even slightly annoyed and back away slowly. No evil vibes, and unless it can magically hide its nonexistant evilness and turns out to be bad later,I’ll eat my head.

OMG. I’m re-reading all of WAM for the billionth time, because I felt like it, and I JUST got it. Hershell and Grendel. Like Hansel and Gretel! Is that intentional? Please tell me that’s intentional…
