Security has good suggestions, doesn’t he? Poor Ben is easily influenced I think…

I wonder how far Wiglaf had to back up to make that running leap into the Griffin’s head…or if there was a math equation to solve for it. Eh; maybe one of my math-genius readers can figure it out for kicks.

For like 2 seconds, I thought Ben was kicking the griffin in panel three, then stabbing it in panel four. Wigalf is so tiny and Ben’s green shirt and the gold hilt of the sword in the next panel had me totally confused.
Then my sleepy brain went DUH! That’s Wiglaf!

Totally awesome as usual. Totally worth not going to bed yet, just to see it. Thank you.

wait, is he talking about the summoning or the squeezing as for what’s making him feel good?

I think Éclat is referring to being used(whether it’s summoning/controlling things or whatever his power is) and freed from the belts that feels good.

…if it was the squeezing, that combined with the cigarette comment would make the comic go up a few ratings.

I was all set to show of math/physics skillz but sadly there isn’t enough information in any of the pages to calculate anything.

Extrapolate the values? XD Best guesses are fine & Wiglaf is around 5′ 5″ or so if that helps…

Reply

Really? If so, he’s quite short. I’m a good two or three inches taller than him.

Reply

Yup; Wiglaf is pretty short. But not too short, he’s still a good three inches taller than me. XD

Reply

Still. He’s shorter than over half of the boys in my grade (freshman in high school).

Reply

Sorry, but from where I’m standing 5′ 5″ is tiny for a dude! 0_0

In the Netherlands he would be considered a small man. He’s shorter than my mother and most of my friends.
If he’s from Scandinavia he really should be taller XD

That does help, that gives me a rough guess of the torso section of the griffin being roughly a cylinder with .84 meter radius and length of 3.36 meters (proportions courtesy of my cat, who was a good sport while I was measuring her). That gives a volume of 7.45 cubic meters which, with a density of 950 kg/m^3 (typical of beef) yields a total mass of 7075.6 kg for the torso section of griffin. Compared to Wiglaf it looks like the griffin was pushed about 1 meter. Then through a bunch of math that is really frustrating to type and a smidge of guessing, it looks like Wiglaf would have hit the griffin at roughly 92.76 meters/second… or 207 miles per hour. Which is when it becomes appropriate to invoke the rule of cool.

Tl;dr
Wiglaf go fast.

The griffin is very good-looking with its bright colors and large wings. Now I guess Wiglaf and Azrael will be arguing over who gets to fight the creature. XD And the contrasting reactions between Ben and Eclat are very good.
