Cast – Camlann

The Sword, Camlann

The Sword, Camlann

Camlann

Age: Old

Current Goal: Find a worthy owner to channel his power properly.

First Appearance: 6. Here, Right?

Bio: Every good hero wearing chainmaille is almost required to have a sword. Wiglaf gets the sarcastic, talking one.

After being trapped in a lake for 100 years waiting for a new owner pure enough of heart to pick him up, Camlann was finally sought out by Mordred. Sadly, he wasn’t pure enough of heart to hold him and Wiglaf got him instead. After spending centuries under the care of Kings, Epic Heroes, and wise Wizards, needless to say Camlann’s a little peeved getting stuck with an apathetic villain and his hero lackey. And he is more than determined to let them know every chance he can get.

Thankfully for everyone else, once Camlann is in his sheath he’s powerless to do anything, let alone talk.

Author Notes: As I said above, Wiglaf needed a sword and I wanted my first plot to be a call out to the King Arthur legends. So from there we get Mordred hunting after a magic sword (Excalubur anyone?) and an ironic name.

Okay, I’ll come clean – the battle of Camlann is my favorite Arthur moment and I wanted it in this story somewhere if it killed me. The name of Wiglaf’s sword just seemed too good to pass up.
