Hey, been looking into making my own theme for this thing – but for now I’m borrowing one from Fahlstad.se ’cause it’s pretty. I’ve edited the side column a little bit though just for taste.
Anyway, eventually when I have a solid internet connection I’ll be making my own theme – gotta get back into the swing of CSS and PHP before I lose what I learned at the start of summer! Work work work!
The Harry Potter Quote Conjuror by the Leaky Cauldron. This thing is so cool. I love it and as you can see above it has a snug place in my desktop next to my other widgets…even though you can’t see the other ones in the picture. In any case – I’m a mediocre Harry Potter fan. I liked the first four books (I’ve yet to read books six and seven and don’t get me started on book five.) and I enjoy the movies. Alan Rickman as Snape was one of the best things they could have ever done. Anyway, even as a mediocre fan I adore this thing.
Not to mention it has the wonderful artwork of Heather Campbell (Makani @ Deviantart) alongside the quotes. It’s sleek, it looks great and I highly recommend it!

Hey, I’m back. It’s amazing how easy it is to get out of the swing of things when you’ve been more or less computer-less for three weeks. I didn’t get nearly the things done I wanted to, but that just means I’ll have to work harder. But it was worth it – because at the end of the break I went to Otakon with Nimblnymph and Ares-Black. (And came out of it with Vic Mignogna’s autograph, two death note key chain latches of Light & Misa, two doujinshi, 4 Naruto doujinshi anthologies, Paradise on the Hill Manga & Volume 3 of Category Freaks – not to mention Volume 3 of Arcana (Zerosum)!! So all in all it was a great haul).
And then in the fanfiction department – I mananged to write a Kiba drabble (go give some entires to that section on Fanfiction.net!! Kiba’s awesome and deserves some lovin’) and finish up Keeping Face. The only downfall is I’ve now finished off all my Saiyuki fics save for the Tag fic. It feels weird – going to need to start a new one. XD
Anyway, enough rambling out of me. Gotta get back to work!
Starting tomorrow I’m going to be gone for two weeks – so sorry if I don’t answer emails or get back to anyone until then.
And if for some reason people complain about my absence let them know that it’s not voluntary. Heh. Believe me – if I could keep ahold of my net access I would. It’s going to be a long two weeks.
For the longest time, I have been plagued (like most of the Mac community) by the WMV3 codec embeded into a .avi container. These movie files would not play no matter what I tried or what I downloaded. It was frustrating to say the least.
But now – as I have downloaded the latest nightly build of VLC by Videolan, I can say it – it worked. That blessed, blessed free program played my files. I’m so happy.
Love them.
